Guide to Enable or Disable Touch Keyboard Typing Sound in Windows 11

The touch-enabled environment of Windows 11 has revolutionized the user experience, with features that accommodate both traditional computing and modern touchscreen interfaces. Among these features is the Touch keyboard or On-screen keyboard – a virtual typing tool that becomes indispensable when your physical keyboard is acting up or when you’re operating on a touchscreen device. Designed to mimic every function of a conventional keyboard, it lets you tap away on a touch screen device, mirroring the experience of typing on a mobile phone. However, one notable difference might be the absence of the distinctive click sound on keypress, which some users might find missing in their typing rhythm. Thankfully, Windows 11 provides options, both via the in-built settings and the Registry Editor, to toggle this sound on or off. In this post by risewindows, we’ll walk you through the steps to enable or disable the Touch keyboard typing sound, ensuring you can tailor your Windows 11 typing experience to your preference.

How to Turn On/Off Touch Keyboard Typing Sound in Windows 11 Through Windows Registry?

Follow the below-described steps to enable or disable the Touch Keyboard tying sound in Windows 11 using Windows Registry:-

Step 1. Firstly, open the Registry Editor window.

Step 4. After that, rename it EnableKeyAudioFeedback.

Step 6. Finally, set the “Value data” as 1 to enable sound on the Touch Keyboard. If you wish to disable the sound, set the “Value data” to 0 by double-clicking on EnableKeyAudioFeedback.
